North Wales Crusaders A take on Newton Storm in the North West Men’s League Shield at Shotton Steel Rugby Union opposite Deeside Leisure Centre at 2.30pm tomorrow (April 6).

Head coach Mike Newton said: The lads are really looking forward to the game and they’ve been working hard in training to put right the things we’ve been lacking in previous games.

“I’m really proud of how far the team and players have come so far this year and I feel confident going into the game.

“Both the coaching team and players have reflected on last week’s defeat and, as I’ve said to the lads, they showed such a promising start, playing their hearts out for the first 20 minutes.

“There was nothing at all between the two sides but, unfortunately, Saddleworth Rangers A decided to field eight National Conference League players in the team and their skill level and pace really took their toll on our lads.

“But I’ve told them they have to put it behind them and move forwards.

“In all of the games so far, they’ve showed a lot of flare, skill and passion and we just need to remain consistent over the whole game, enjoy it and I’m sure the next win won’t be far away.”

Crusaders A’s 19-man squad for the clash is as follows: Patrick Conroy, James Doody, Damian Goss, Ryan Griffiths, Andrew Higgins, Jacob Hitchcox, Callum Leonard, Dylan Mairs-Lee, Alfie Matthias, Tim Neale, Ryan Newton, Reece Owens, Dylan Rowe, Rob Sansom, Ryan Trantum, Ryan Turner, Finlay Swift, Paul Welch, Josh White.

The full address for the match is: Shotton Steel Rugby Union, Chester Road, CH5 1SE.
