As North Wales Crusaders travel to Doncaster on Sunday, we take a look at some of the most memorable matches between the two sides over the years.

North Wales Crusaders 24-28 Doncaster – July 2014 – Championship

Despite leading at the break, Crusaders were beaten by Doncaster at The Rock.

Tries from Greg Wilde, Stuart Reardon, Dan Birkett and Sabastien Martins had taken North Wales into a 24-16 advantage at one stage in the second-half, but Dave Scott and Steve Snitch struck late to secure the victory for the Dons.

Although the home side pressed late on, they couldn’t find a way back in the match.

North Wales Crusaders 40-12 Doncaster – March 2015 – Challenge Cup

League 1 outfit Crusaders knocked then Championship side Doncaster out of the Challenge Cup at the fourth round stage.

Rob Massam played a key part in the win as he scored four tries in an incredible 16-minute spell.

North Wales were in control by half-time, leading 18-6, but they continued to pile on the pressure in the second-half and romped home for a comfortable victory.

Doncaster 35-28 North Wales Crusaders – February 2016 – League 1 Cup

After winning the League 1 Cup in 2015, Crusaders failed to retain the trophy as they were knocked out by Doncaster in an end-to-end tie.

North Wales led 22-18 at half-time, but Doncaster edged the second-half and Jordie Hedge’s drop-goal gave the hosts a seven-point cushion that allowed them a little more breathing space.

Scott Turner grabbed a hat-trick for Crusaders on the day, with Massam and Duffy crossing for the other scores.
