By November 3, 2018 No Comments

Having arrived at North Wales Crusaders last week, new signing Kenny Hughes admits that he can’t wait to pull on the Crusaders shirt and play in front of the club’s supporters.

Having joined North Wales Crusaders from fellow League One outfit Oldham Roughyeds where he spent five seasons appearing 138 times and scoring 29 tries.

Hughes was also a product of the St Helens academy team before joining Oldham in 2013.

Speaking to northwalescrusaders.com, the 28 year old says he’s looking forward to a fresh start and a new challenge at North Wales Crusaders as well as being reunited with some former teammates.

“I can inject pace from dummy half to get us playing faster and to be more direct, he said.

“I can also bring a good work ethic and help players around me work harder.

“I signed for North Wales Crusaders because every time I’ve played against them, it’s always been a tough game and the supporters are the most vocal I’ve come across and are always supportive of their players.”

Hughes added: “I’ve had a good chat with Anthony Murray and I know what he expects from me.

“I see us making the playoffs next season and being a very strong side.”

On the signing of Hughes, Crusaders head coach Anthony Murray said: “We’re delighted to have Kenny Hughes joining us for next season.

“He’s a quality addition to what is becoming a very solid squad, and I have no doubt that he’ll fit in really well with everyone here at Crusaders.”
