North Wales Crusaders A opened their North West Men’s League Division 4 campaign with a 26-26 draw against Rochdale Cobras at Deeside Leisure Centre.
The Cobras were arguably a bigger and more experienced outfit than Crusaders, who fielded a team made up largely of debutants.
However, North Wales showed flashes of brilliance at times and crossed for some impressive team tries.
A late Cobras try would’ve made them feel as though it was a point lost rather than gained.
On the whole, the game was full of mistakes and ill-disciple because of the poor conditions, but the home side is developing and the early signs are positive.
Tries: Damian Goss (2), Dylan Rowe, Tim Neale, William Mills
Goals: Ryan Griffiths
Crusaders man of the match: Callum Leonard
