North Wales Crusaders have signed hooker Andy Ball from amateur club Leigh East.
Ball, who has played for Leigh East since he was eight-years-old and has regularly been one of the club’s stand-out players, will give Crusaders boss Anthony Murray further options at nine.
On joining North Wales, Ball said: “I’m excited for a different challenge and to test myself at a higher level.
“The intensity is going to be a lot higher than what I’ve probably been used to, but I’m hoping I can bring something a bit different and get a regular spot in the team.
“It seems like a great set up at the club and everyone I’ve met so far has been very welcoming.
“I want to hopefully have a couple of years at least at this level with the club and show what I can do.
“If Muzza needs me as early as this weekend, I’m ready to play.”
Ball will come straight into contention as Crusaders travel to London Skolars for their League 1 opener.
