Everyone connected with North Wales Crusaders are saddened to hear about the passing of wheelchair team player Mike Griffiths.
Wheelchair team head coach Stephen Jones said: “Mike was a truly dedicated member of the club and put in absolutely everything he could while playing.
“He really deserved to win captain’s player of the year, as well as newbie of the year, for his performances during the 2019 season.
“Mike will always remain a member of the team and will be sorely missed as a player, teammate and, more importantly, a friend.”
In 2019, Mike notched up 19 appearances, scoring a total of 71 points (15 tries, five goals and one drop-goal).
Mike’s 2020 shirt number will be officially retired from all Championship games in the future.
Everyone at the club would like to pass on their condolences to Mike’s friends and family during this time.
