North Wales Crusaders have signed Coventry Bears skipper Chris Barratt ahead of the 2020 campaign.
Barratt has been captain at the Bears for a number of years and one of the club’s stand-out players during that period.
But the back rower has signed terms with Crusaders for next season, becoming the second player to make the move from Coventry to Wrexham following Kieran Sherratt’s capture.
On joining North Wales, Barratt said: “I was looking for a different team to try something new.
“I wanted to try and improve my game elsewhere and everyone I’ve chatted to have spoken highly of Anthony Murray.
“I had no idea that Kieran was signing as well, but it’ll be good to have somebody I know around the place.
“The club were unlucky not to reach the play-offs last season and were only a couple of wins away.
“I’m hoping we can improve on that next season and reach the play-offs.
“I just want to be a regular in the team and play my part.”
