North Wales Crusaders have agreed a new one-year deal with winger Dave Eccleston for the 2021 campaign.
Eccleston, who joined Crusaders from Oldham ahead of 2019, has racked up 25 appearances for the club to date, crossing for seven tries in the process.
He previously had a loan spell with North Wales back in 2017, but it is during his second stint that he has cemented his place on the right wing.
On his new deal, Eccleston said: “I’m more than pleased to be staying at Crusaders.
“The club itself and the fans are both brilliant. The fans here are the best I’ve ever played in front of because they’re always with you every step of the way no matter how you’re doing.
“I’m hoping we keep a lot of the current squad for 2021 because we never got to see what we were capable of.
“Things were looking positive and I think we were only going to get better as the season went on.
“We’ve got some good players in our side and the aim will again be to make the play-offs in 2021.”
North Wales head coach Anthony Murray added: “Dave is a really good person to have in camp.
“He’s a quiet person, but he certainly makes up for it on the field as he’s got a really good work ethic.
“Your wingers and fullback nowadays probably carry the ball as much as your forwards. The impact Dave makes with his carries, as well as the amount of times he comes in to do more work, makes a big difference for us.
“He’s not the biggest, but he’s a brave player and an absolute workhorse for us.
“I’m delighted he’s decided to stay with us for another year.”
