North Wales Crusaders have agreed a new one-year deal with centre Earl Hurst ahead of the 2021 campaign.
The 31-year-old is currently in his second spell with Crusaders, racking up nearly 70 appearances for the club to date.
Hurst made the step up to the semi-professional ranks back in 2016, impressing immediately and featuring for North Wales over the next two seasons.
After signing for then Championship club Rochdale Hornets ahead of 2018, he spent the first half of the season with the Great Manchester club and then opted for a switch back to Crusaders, where he has plied his trade since.
On his new deal, Hurst said: “I’m made up to be staying at Crusaders.
“It’s a good level to be playing at with the number of experienced players both in our side and joining other clubs.
“We’ve got a lot of competition for places at Crusaders and it’s great to see. I enjoy fighting for my spot.
“It’s nice to see some lads from amateur being given a chance as that was me a couple of years ago.
“I can’t wait for next season. It’s going to be a tough division, but we’ve been close to making those play-offs over he last couple of seasons and I think we can go one better next time.”
North Wales head coach Anthony Murray added: “Earl joined us from the amateur game and he’s gone on to play at Championship level since.
“He is much wiser now and someone who has a lot of experience at this level.
“It’s great to have him signed up for 2021 and he’s another player who’ll be able to help some of the younger lads coming through.”
