Annette Ridgway is part of North Wales Crusaders’ fantastic group of volunteers, regularly giving up her time to look after the club’s pop-up shop at Ty Pawb.
As part of the celebrations for professional rugby league being played in North Wales for ten years, we’ll be profiling some of the fans who have stuck by the club all the way.
Annette, who was born in Australia and grew up watching the sport, first started following the current Crusaders club during their debut season back in 2012.
“It was the first time I’d heard there was rugby league in Wrexham so I went down to have a look,” she said.
“This club and their supporters are like a big family so it’s easy to support them.
“I offer to help because I know how hard it has been for the club to get to way they are now. I just want to support with taking the club forward and every little helps.
“I hope we can make it to the top six this season and that any supporters who no longer watch us as often come back and support us.
“After what we saw last Saturday, I don’t see why not.”
North Wales take on Doncaster in their League 1 opener at Queensway Stadium on Sunday (February 16).
