Paula Evans and her family have made many great friends through following North Wales Crusaders home and away.
To celebrate professional rugby league being played in Wrexham for ten years, we’re profiling some of the supporters who have backed North Wales all the way since the current club was formed in 2012.
Paula started watching the old Crusaders in Super League back in 2010 and has never looked back since.
“I’ve always been a rugby league fan, following Wigan previously, and went to my first Crusaders game as I had a local team to support,” she said.
“When the old club folded, North Wales Crusaders were created and it felt like it was our own team.
“The best thing about the club is definitely the fans. We all look out for each other and everyone is really friendly.
“I’ve made a lot of great friends. Not only Crusaders fans, but also away fans.
“For families, it’s a great day out and, for people on their own, there’s always someone else to talk to.
“The visiting fans are always happy to chat and, while there may be some light-hearted banter, there is never anything that oversteps the mark.”
Crusaders take on Doncaster at Queensway Stadium on Sunday, February 16 (2.30pm) in their opening game of the League 1 campaign.
Entry is priced at £12 for adults and £10 for concessions, with U16s going free of charge. You can also buy a season ticket, which includes entry to every home league game in 2020.
