Steve and Michelle Grundy clock up the miles to cheer on North Wales Crusaders as they travel from Menai Bridge to Wrexham for every home fixture.
As part of the celebrations for professional rugby league being played in North Wales for ten years, we’ll be profiling some of the fans who have backed the club all the way.
It was simply by chance that Steve and Michelle started supporting Crusaders.
“Back in 2015, Steve had an appointment at the Maelor Hospital in Wrexham and we saw a game advertised so we decided to go along and watch,” Michelle said.
“We liked it so much that we’ve stayed ever since. It’s absolutely worth it – every mile, every penny we’ve spent, every soaking we’ve had on the touchline.
“Win, lose or draw, you always support your team and we’ve made some great friendships over the past five years.
“It’s a bit of a cliche, but it really is a family. There are no egos from the men at the top down to the volunteers, from the players to the fans, as it’s just a mutual love for the club.”
On the upcoming 2020 season, Steve said: “I’m looking forward to seeing the new players in action and watching the club move forward in the future.”
Crusaders take on Doncaster at Queensway Stadium on Sunday, February 16 in their opening match of the League 1 season.
Entry is £12 for adults, £10 for concessions and completely free for U16s.
