84 per cent of North Wales Crusaders’ season ticket holders have very generously donated the money to the club.
The 2020 campaign was sadly cancelled because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, with focus now turning to 2021.
The only competitive home match to take place in 2020 was North Wales’ Challenge Cup tie with Hunslet, meaning season ticket holders weren’t able to use their passes at any point.
Crusaders have been contacting all season ticket holders over the last couple of weeks, asking whether they’d like to donate the money to the club, transfer their season ticket over to 2021 or claim a refund.
While 84 per cent have donated the money to the club, 16 per cent have asked for their season ticket to be transferred to next season. Nobody has asked for a refund.
Crusaders chief executive Andy Moulsdale said: “I’d just like to say a massive thank you to all of our supporters for this gesture.
“At this tough time for everyone, it goes to show that we’re all in it together. It’s a big boost for the club.
“On the back of this, we’ll have some more good news to announce in the next few weeks about 2021 both on and off the field.”
