North Wales Crusaders have signed Jordan Penny from the amateur ranks on a deal until the end of the season.
Penny, who has caught the eye of Crusaders head coach Anthony Murray playing for Wigan St Cuthberts, recently went on tour with North West England Lionhearts, facing the likes of Jamaica’s A team.
The 21-year-old predominantly plays in the centres and this contract at North Wales is his in the professional ranks.
Penny will be named in Crusaders’ 19-man squad later and will come straight into contention to make his debut at Hunslet on Sunday.
