North Wales Crusaders have signed Kieran Sherratt from fellow League 1 side Coventry Bears ahead of the 2020 campaign.

Sherratt, who plays in the forward pack, has spent the last three seasons at Coventry, playing regularly for the Midlands club.

After turning out for the Bears while he studied at university in the area, Sherratt has now moved back up north to Wigan.

On signing for Crusaders, Sherratt said: “I’m really looking forward to it.

“I know quite a few of the lads at the club and one of the main reasons I joined is because they all had really good things to say about the set up.

“They’ve all been really positive about the coaches and what they’re trying to do at the club.

“I think the team’s got a lot of potential and they only just missed out on the play-offs last season.

“I’m hoping we’ll be able to go one better next season in what should be a very competitive league.”

North Wales head coach Anthony Murray said: “Kieran is another good addition for us ahead of the 2020 season.

“He’s been one of Coventry’s stand-out players over the last couple of seasons.

“He’s a mobile forward and will give us plenty more options in the pack next season.”
