Chris Barratt is the latest player to be added to Anthony Murray’s squad for the 2021 campaign.
The forward, who was Coventry Bears’ captain for a number of years, joined Crusaders ahead of 2020.
After Barratt had featured in all of North Wales’ opening four matches and looked set to play an important role for the club, the campaign was put on hold because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and has since been cancelled.
On his new deal, Barratt said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Crusaders so far and was gutted that the season was cut short so it was only natural that I wanted to stay.
“I felt we had a chance of doing really well in 2020 so it’ll be good to have a real dig again next season.
“As a lot of the squad are now used to the systems we play, we should hit the ground running in pre-season.
“The aims needs to be pretty similar to what they were in 2020. We need to be making those play-off places.”
North Wales head coach Anthony Murray added: “From what I’d seen of Chris in pre-season and the early stages of the 2020 season, he was a really good professional.
“He trained hard, is technically very good, really bought into the Crusaders spirit and the way we do things here.
“We lost a lot of our leaders after the 2019 season so it was good to bring somebody in with Chris’ leadership experience.
“He showed how committed he is because he travelled to training and matches from the Midlands.
“I’m really pleased Chris has decided to stop with us and I’m genuinely excited to see how he develops with us in the future.”
