As part of its ongoing strategy to drive the club forward off the field, the Board has decided to create a new honorary role of “Vice-President” which is intended to gather together enthusiastic and influential individuals connected with rugby league and/or the Wrexham/North Wales region who can contribute to moving the Club forward.
In due course, it is intended also to appoint a President of the Club, who will hopefully raise the profile of the Club within the RL and regional communities.
Director Brian Wake will become the first to be appointed to the role of vice president, and following 7 years involvement as a director of the club, he will be stepping down as director in order to concentrate his efforts on the new role.
Wake Said: “Having been involved with Crusaders since its inception, and having now reached ‘a certain age’ I have decided to refocus on this exciting new role, and allow the other directors to continue their good work on a day to day basis. I would like to thank all those staff, players and others (not least my wife, Sylvia…!) who have helped me in my role as a director, especially during some dark days, and I would especially like to thank our Chairman Ian Edwards for his unending commitment to the cause.”
Crusaders Chairman Ian Edwards added: “Whilst we are sorry to see Brian step down from his role as Director, we are delighted that he will be staying on in a different capacity. Brian has devoted countless hours to forming the Club and keeping it running over the last 7 years and his energy and enthusiasm make him a perfect choice as Vice President.
“On behalf of North Wales Crusaders I would like to thank him for what he has done for the club so far and what he will no doubt be doing in the future.”
