North Wales Crusaders travel to Rochdale Hornets on Sunday, April 25 for their second pre-season outing ahead of the 2021 campaign.

Here’s all the important information you need ahead of the clash at the Crown Oil Arena.

UP FRONT

Crusaders will conclude their pre-season schedule at Rochdale after taking on Hunslet last weekend, bringing a 406-day wait for rugby league action to an end.

North Wales were arguably the better side for 70 minutes as the Yorkshiremen, running with a bigger squad, grabbed three quick-fire tries in the closing stages to secure victory.

This will be Rochdale’s first match of pre-season as they prepare for what they hope will be a successful 2021.

SQUAD NEWS

Crusaders head coach Anthony Murray has named a 21-man squad for the trip to Rochdale.

Jordy Gibson, Earl Hurst, Tommy Johnson, Rob Massam, Jono Smith and Warren Thompson are all set to feature after sitting out the match at Hunslet.

Hornets boss Matt Calland has opted to go with a 27-man squad against North Wales.

PRE-MATCH COMMENTS

Jordy Gibson can’t wait to get back out on the field as he feels there’s nothing like match fitness.

He said: “It’s been a long time coming and I’m really glad we’re back.

“For six or seven of us, it’ll be our first game so we might be lacking in match fitness.

“We’ve done a lot of conditioning and work on the field since we returned for pre-season, but there’s nothing like match fitness.”
