North Wales Crusaders travel to Widnes Vikings on January 27 for their second pre-season outing as preparations step up ahead of the 2019 campaign.
Anthony Murray’s men began pre-season with a 26-0 defeat to Championship club Swinton Lions at Heywood Road last weekend.
Crusaders will now take on their partner club Widnes Vikings, who have had a solid pre-season following their relegation from Super League in 2018.

Anthony Murray has named an 18-man squad for the trip to the Select Security Stadium.
Full squad: Karl Ashall, Simon Atherton, Kenny Baker, Callan Beckett, Brad Brennan, Joe Connor, Gavin Convoy, Aled Davies, Dave Eccleston, Lee Hudson, Kenny Hughes, Earl Hurst, Rob Massam, Danny Price, Steven Roper, Ben Stead, Alex Thompson, Warren Thompson.
Crusaders are without Matt Reid, Tommy Johnson, Ryan Smith, Jack Houghton, Jonny Walker, Lewis Fairhurst and Joe Bate.
COACH’S COMMENTS
Anthony Murray: “Our partnership with Widnes is great.
“They’ve named a strong squad for tomorrow’s game, so it shows they’re respecting us and want a decent last run-out before their season starts.
“We’re looking forward to testing ourselves against a good side.”
