North Wales Crusaders travel to Championship club Widnes Vikings on Sunday, January 19 for their second outing of pre-season.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of the clash.

UP FRONT

Crusaders began pre-season with a 24-16 defeat at Barrow Raiders, who are one of the favourites to clinch promotion from League 1.

Considering North Wales fielded eight new players and had a couple missing through injury, they matched Barrow for large spells of the match in what was a very encouraging start to 2020.

Widnes, meanwhile, have won both of their friendlies so far and beat a young Castleford Tigers outfit 32-10 last time out.

In their first match, the Vikings won 34-24 at Rochdale Hornets, despite fielding a youthful side themselves.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Crusaders and Widnes are yet to come head-to-head in a league or cup fixture.

However, the two sides did meet in pre-season last year, with the Vikings running out 48-6 winners.

THE SQUAD

Crusaders boss Anthony Murray has named a 22-man squad for the trip to Widnes.

Karl Ashall and Dante Morley-Samuels are the only players missing, with both currently on the sidelines through injury.

Brad Billsborough and Jordan Olmez are both in line to make their first appearances for the club.
