North Wales Crusaders host Workington Town at Stadiwm ZipWorld on Sunday, May 23 in their second match at their new home.

Here’s all the important information you need to know ahead of the League 1 clash in Colwyn Bay.

UP FRONT

Crusaders will be looking to respond to their 26-18 defeat to Hunslet in their first home match at Stadiwm ZipWorld.

With the match level at 18-18 heading into the final quarter, Hunslet halfbacks Simon Brown and Dom Brambani came up with some important plays in the closing stages to secure the win for the Yorkshiremen.

North Wales had started the League 1 campaign with a comfortable 44-24 win at London Skolars the weekend before.

Workington, meanwhile, sit pretty at the top of the table after two wins from two, beating Hunslet and Skolars in the opening rounds.

SQUAD NEWS

North Wales head coach Anthony Murray has named a 21-man squad for the clash against Workington, including loan signing Joe Sanderson from Championship club Batley Bulldogs.

21-man squad in full: Pat Ah Van, Andy Ball, Chris Barratt, Brad Billsborough, Brad Brennan, Cam Brown, Jack Cottington, Alex Eckley, Jordy Gibson, Callum Hazzard, Jack Holmes, Elliott Jenkins, Rob Massam, Dante Morley-Samuels, Ben Morris, Matt Reid, Gav Rodden, Joe Sanderson, Jono Smith, Warren Thompson, Tommy Johnson.

PRE-MATCH COMMENTS

Crusaders boss Murray believes his side aren’t far away and just need to fix up a couple of small things.

He said: “Workington have started the season well and they’ve got two wins from two.

“They had a good result at Hunslet on the opening weekend of the season and backed that up last weekend against Skolars.

“All we need to focus on is being better ourselves and improving in a couple of areas.

“I couldn’t fault the lads’ commitment and enthusiasm against Hunslet, but we’ve got to fix up some of those errors and make sure we’re not on the wrong end of the penalty count again.”
