North Wales Crusaders head coach Anthony Murray is looking for more of the same from his side when they visit Coventry Bears this weekend.

Murray’s men are currently on a three-match unbeaten run as they backed up impressive wins against Keighley Cougars and Hunslet with a 72-4 success over West Wales Raiders in the Welsh derby.

Crusaders’ next challenge is a trip to the Butts Park Arena to face Coventry Bears, who currently sit eighth in the League 1 table.

Murray said: “We’ve just got to keep on focusing on what we’re doing.

“We’ve backed up three wins now and all we need to do is keep performing and doing the things right that are putting us in the position to win games.

“If we do that, we’ll finish where we want to finish this year.

“Coventry have had a great season and are a very difficult side to play against, particularly on their own pitch, so we’ll need to be at our best.

“We put some nice plays on against West Wales last weekend and executed really well.

“I thought we were really clinical in the right areas when we got to the last tackle and our kicking game was good again.

“We piled on the pressure and racked up a decent scoreline.”

With 11 matches now played, the League 1 campaign is entering an important stage as all clubs look to pick up as many points as possible between now and the end of the season.

Murray added: “It’s soon come around considering we were all waiting so long for the season to begin.

“We’ve not had some key players for most of the season, Matt Reid has only just come back into the frame and we’ve had to bring in some loan players, but we’ve not really mentioned it.

“We’ve had full confidence in our squad and we’ve just got to keep on building on our recent results now.”
