North Wales Crusaders halfback Jordy Gibson believes hard work has got his side to third spot in the League 1 table and the same level of performances are needed between now and the end of the season.

With three matches left in the regular season, Crusaders sit in third on the back of six consecutive wins, including three at Stadiwm ZipWorld since supporters returned.

And Gibson reckons the reason behind North Wales’ run of form is quite simple.

“I think it’s mainly hard work to be honest and working for each other in training,” he said.

“After the Doncaster game, we all knew we had to do something to rectify that.

“We’ve all been really digging in for each other and the buzz around the club at the minute is brilliant.

“We’ve got a great set of lads and coaching staff here and it’s just a really positive place to be.

“Everyone can see how our performances have improved and it’s important we play like that every week because anybody can beat anybody in this league.

“We certainly can’t take anything for granted and we need to make sure we’re at 100 per cent every game.”

Crusaders’ fans new and old have made a real party atmosphere in Colwyn Bay and it’s something that’s spurred on the players.

Gibson said: “I think it’s got us over the line a few times.

“It’s massive for us and gives us that extra 10 or 15 per cent when we sometimes need it in matches.

“The lads are always buzzing to play at the new stadium as it’s definitely a massive step up in facilities compared to what we’ve had previously.”
