North Wales Crusaders have completed the loan signing of Joe Ryan from Rochdale Hornets.

Ryan joins initially for one month and will come straight into contention for Sunday’s opening home match against Oldham.

The forward came through the academy at Warrington Wolves and featured regularly for the club’s reserves.

He then spent time on loan at League 1 side Workington Town in late-2017, making the deal permanent ahead of last season.

However, he left Town in mid-2018 to join Championship outfit Rochdale Hornets, re-signing for this season.

Crusaders head coach Anthony Murray said: “As we’ve lost Joe Bate and Jonny Walker is struggling to commit to training as often because of work, it was important we strengthened the forwards.

“It was the right time to bring in another middle to bolster our options and I’m pleased with Joe’s addition.

“He’s been involved with a good academy set-up at Warrington and has experience both at our level and higher.”

Crusaders have launched #CHALLENGE800 ahead of Sunday’s clash with Oldham. Encourage your friends, family and work colleagues to cheer on the lads at Queensway Stadium.
