North Wales Crusaders head coach Anthony Murray wants his side to make the most of their final pre-season outing against Coventry Bears at Queensway Stadium at 1.30pm on Saturday.

After facing Swinton Lions and Widnes Vikings to date, Murray’s men will wrap up their pre-season against the Bears.

Despite losing 48-6 to Widnes last time out, Crusaders put in a solid display against one of the favourites to win promotion to Super League.

And Murray now wants his side to carry that performance in to the clash with Coventry.

“I’m looking forward to it as it’s an opportunity for us to test ourselves against a side who’ll be in our division,” he said.

“The game was obviously called off last weekend, but we’re glad we’ve managed to re-arrange it and we’re looking forward to getting back out there.

“I was really pleased with the performance against Widnes. I thought we defended our line well and we probably won’t face many sides as capable as them this year.

“There were things we could have done better and the lads have been working hard in training to put some of those right.

“I’ve been a little bit concerned with some of the injuries we’ve been picking up before the season has already started, but we’ve brought Callum Hazzard in and we’re hoping to have a few more coming back.

“This is our last pre-season game so it’s important we put in a good display and get what we need out of it.”
